Story | The most prized pottery in Morocco is made in Fes. While the most common type of clay is earthenware, Fassi pottery is made from fine, lighter colored stoneware clay. Traditional methods are still used to throw pottery, shaped by hand on a foot pedal pottery wheel.
Pottery from Fes is still fired in kilns fueled by olive pits. Olive pits provide an extremely hot but clean burn. They are also an eco-friendly alternative fuel source.
